Here I come Venice. The world's most romantic destinations in the world. My story was pretty funny for the first day I arrived in Venice, because all the boat were strike which it was not pretty normal. I should have booked the transfer boat from the airport, well as a traveler I though I could take a car from the airport. It was a mistake for that day only if the boats in Venice were not striked. It was raining and I had to find the way to the hotel. It was not fun but I still see the beauty of the city under the rain. Then I start walking and asked for some help to find the way to the hotel. There were so many alleys here and it was seem to float in some area. It was not fun at that moment for me because I had to drag my bag under the rain and it was quite cold.

I finally met a kind guy who walked me through where I support to be able to turn into the alley where the hotel is located. I finally got into the hotel and felt relax. I was pretty excited after all. The hotel was luxurious and I really love the uniquness of the Venetian architecture. First thing when I got into the room I just want to sit back and relax so I decided to enjoy a cuy of capucinno in bed and after a glass of red wine at the bar and snack on some atuthentic Venetian dish. It was a great thing to do to start my first day in Venice. I felt in love with Venice already. What a great way to enjoy my vacation, sipping a glass of red wine and enjoying such a delicious local seafood at a luxury hotel. Then out and about.

I was lucky for the rest of my trip because the weather turned to be so perfect. I spent the whole day walking and exploring Venice. One thing I really love to do wherever I travel to. I love visiting the fish market and I was very excited to see the fish market here since Venice is surrounded by lagoon so therefor would be so many fresh seafood and local seafood like small soft shell crabs "Moleche" or tiny gray shrimp called schie that can be found in the Venetian lagoon. The fish market was magnificant because It was surrounded by the old architecture and everything look so fresh, so far this was really the most unique fish market I have ever seen. I really enjoyed my time looking at those fresh fish, crabs and all you can imagine. This fish market called Rialto and only open in the morning, also close every sunday and monday. I was lucky to have a chance to experienced the Rialto Fish market while I was in Venice.

Right next tho the Rialto fish market my eyes catch on the sigh of the restaurant that I have heard about this restaurant name Ristorante Poste Vecie. It has been opened since 1500 so It was nice that I happened to visit the fish market than I decided to have my luanch at this oldest restaurant in Venice. I love experiencing well known restaurants and local because this is part of the traveling experienced. The food here was good. I had schie "small shrimp from Venice lagoon" with polenta. I eat this dish everyday of my trip in Venice. This is typical Venice dish. I also had fried moleche "small soft shell carbs and pasta with squid ink sauce. It was a great lunch. What a wonderful short trip from fish market and lucnhing at the oldest restaurant in Venice!

Venice is also a great place for shopping. There were so many shoes, bags, arts, souvenir, burano glass, jewelry and many more, but especially for the leather products like shoes and bags are great qualities. There are many jewelry shops as well. I also bought some Burano glass jewelry like neackless and ring. These are very unique which you can only buy here in Venice. Even though you love luxurious brand name, Venice has everything to offers. It is a fun place to shop but watch out for your weight luggage because you may end up buying too many stuff like me. I was lucky to meet such a kind local guy Stephano who own a jewlery shop. I bought some of his collection. He also booked a restaurant reservation for me and this restaurant is very well known for local people. I had the best food and I was so impressed witht the quality of the food and the freshness of the food. That wonderful dinner really made a perfect day for me.

Talking about Venice. It was so romantic and if you love photographing. You would spend days taking pictures in this beautiful town that surrounded by gorgeous architecture. Every alleys and corner has something to mysterious. I love walking through alleys than crossing the bridges that were all over in Venice. I enjoyed photographing in Venice a lot. It does not seem so big but I could not explore Venice in two days because every corner has someting to stop me to look and enjoy the beauty. One of the most beautiful place in Venice was the Basilica di san Marco. It was stunning. There were so many touristy around here. Oh just becareful with the guy who sell roses. I was taking picture but all that suddened he came around and put flower in my hand and harrased for money but I want to give him back but he kept on walking away like I was a kid that had to chase him around so I wanted to throw his rose to him but I put it on the ground. It's funny how people wants to make money so watch out for that because he would think once flower was in your hand than you will have to pay.

From the Basilica di san Marco. I could walk from here to the Gondola port just in a few minutes, by the Gondola port it was a beuatiful area where I could enjoy watching the stunning scenery of an open lagoon and the architecture. There are a lot of people around this area and everyone just want to pictures. This is like a melting pot of tourist but it was really nice to see the Basilica di San Marco and the Godolian who are like a star of Venice. There were so many people around here so I decided not to get on the Gondola yet since It was getting late as well, however I also have another wonderful plan at Casino di Venezia. IMalta is a beautifully restored palace set on the beautiful Vittoriosa Waterfront of the medieval town of Birgu. It’s location just off the Grand Harbour, overlooking a yacht marina with Malta’s capital, Valletta, sitting proudly across the harbour, is difficult to match anywhere in the Mediterranean. The Casinò di Venezia, Malta is an extension of what is undoubtedly the most picturesque and evocative gambling house in the world – the original Casino di Venezia located on the Canal Grande in Venice. In its traditions, the casino’s. This Casino is not something you should compare to Las Vegas. It's more about appreciating the history of the oldest casino in the world.

I also experienced the fine dining here at the Casino. One of the must visit locations in Venice is the Casino di Venezia. Founded in 1638, the casino is the world's oldest gaming house and it is located on the Grand Canal in Venice. The palazzo housing the casino was once the residence of the doges of Venice and most famously the composer Richard Wagner. The palazzo is a tremendous building and a great example of a stately renaissance style home, it truly is one of the most elegant buildings on the Grand Canal. While quite different than most other casinos throughout the world, the Casino di Venezia has the James Bond character of the Old World casinos that have the character than most modern casinos are lacking. Don't expect to see the lights and glamour of Las Vegas, this casino is traditional in the European sense - proper dress code - plenty of tuxedoes and gowns, gaming tables spread across the ornate marble and portrait filled rooms and minimal crowds. If you are looking for a modern casino experience this may not be for you. If you want to feel like you are in the midst of a classic Bond movie with a game or two of Chemin de Fer or Punto Banco surrounded by well dressed gamers, this is the place for you.Nestled deep within the palazzo, and not exactly easy to find, is the classic Wagner Restaurant. Known for Venetian delicacies and traditional fish specialties the Wagner Restaurant is a unique place to dine. While the service may be mediocre at best the decor, original carvings, sculptures and artwork, is not to be missed. Dedicated to the great composer who lived in the historical palazzo, this restaurant is a unique privilege for visitors to the gaming house.

Last but not least about this beautiful place on earth. Before I took off to the airport. I had quite sometime in the morning till noon to enjoy myself so it would be a shame if I have not get on Gondola. There are a couple of Gondola port here, once by Basilica di San Marco and another is close to grand canal Rialto bridge. I went to the one that close to Rialto Bridge since It was close to my hotel by walking distance and less people too. I did a short ride and it was fantastic. It was a magnificant thing to do here in Venice. I love that beautiful Gondola was going throw little canal while the Gondolian was singing along the canal over looking the stunning architecture and learning the history about Venice. I was amazed by the technique of the Gondola ride even the small turn on those little canal. Gondolians are not only the guys who ride to boat but they are they super stars here in Venice also considered as an actress as well. It is estimated that there were eight to ten thousand gondolas during the 17th and 18th century. There are just over four hundred in active service today, virtually all of them used for hire by tourists. Those few that are in private ownership are either hired out to Venetians for weddings or used for racing. Even though the Gondola by now has become a widely publicized icon of Venice.

I really fall in love for Venice for the first time I arrived, even the weather was bad for the first day however the rest of my trip was incredible. This city is rich of culture and beutiful architeture. More than that, there are others beautiful islands like Murano and Burano Island to explore. There are in Venetian Lagoon. I had a great time doing full day trip to visit these two Islands so if you would love to learn more about Murano Island which is well known for the place where they produce Murano blow glass and Burano Island which is considered as the fisherman Island but also well known as the place where they produce beautiful handmade lace for centuries. It was such a magnificant trip to these Islands because I got to experienced beutiful culture and nice people here. Also some shopping from Murano New Gallery and handmade lace from Burano Island. The other imporatant thing while I travel is about the food. I had a really good lunch at Trattoria da Romano on Burano Island. The staff here were friendly and kind and I got to have a little short film from the kitchen but the most impressive thing about this restaurant was not only the good and service but this restaurant has been serving authentic local food. The restaurant "Da Romano" is one of the places that the "vips" of the 20th century most loved and frequent, and one of the most charming artistic restaurants of Venice."Da Romano" has always been managed by the Barbaro family, who continues the tradition with love and ability, giving prestige and a pleasant hospitality to the restaurant. Here you can taste the typical dishes of the lagoon cuisine: the risottos and fish dishes, famous for their refined simplicity that comes from an old gastronomic art.

Best Season:

Late spring and early summer are the best times to visit Venice as far as weather is concerned. But the city during these beautiful warm days is packed with tourists. The fall is a lovely time to visit Venice, but it is also when the acqua alta (flooding, or literally "high water") is more likely to occur. October through January is the typical high water season, though flooding can occur at any time during the year. While high water can definitely hamper your sightseeing, know that it has been a way of life for Venetians for hundreds of years and is a unique experience to have as a tourist.
