The Hallstatt-Dachstein Salzkammergut area has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List with the following inscription "Human activity in the magnificent natural landscape of the Salzkammergut began in prehistoric times. This trip to Hallstatt was really a significant trip. It was very spontaneous and whole unexpected. Hallstatt is my dream destination. When I first saw pictures of Hallstatt. I started to feel passionate to plan for my trip to Austria right away. It is one of place in Europe that must see. Hallstatt is the old town country side that surrounded by lake and mountains. This trip in Europe during Agust in 2011was very interesting because it was very spontaneous. I had places in my mind but it wasn't like I planed exactly where to visit because I had two weeks vacation so from there I was being on my mood about my next stop destinations so before I decided to visit Hallstatt, Austria. I was in Prague Czech Republic for four days then I decided to travel to Vienna. 



 Before I got my ticket. it was kind of pain in the a** at the train station in Prague. Service is totally sucks here and people who work at the train ticket is not helpful. I had to go from one station to another because I didn't know at the first place where I could buy the train ticket. The best way for me is to get in a cab and let the cab driver drop me to where I could buy the express train ticket to Vienna. Finally I got my ticket and travel to Vienna the next day.I took the train from Vienna to Hallstatt. It was totally fun and enjoyable during the train trip. I love while the train pass from one country to another because I started to see the differences The train trip has always been my favorite thing to do. I love looking out at the scenery of green file, mountain, river, houses etc. It was relaxing and fun. Traveling by train in Europe is a big fun for me. while I am on the train I listen to the music, photographing and enjoyed the scenario. It was the best transportation while I can see the landscape. The weather was perfect for me in August here. 

 When I arrived in Vienna I didn't feel like i want to stay in Vienna but i have another destination in my mine. This place called Hallstatt. its a small old town but destination takes 8hrs from Vienna to Hallstatt included one transfer. I was having a piece of pizza before i decided to stay in Vienna or going to my dream destination. I was on the train already for few hours so I said to myself i got to see Hallstatt. I love to see something different more then just capital city of Austria because i can picture how Vienna looks like already from my travel experiences. So…then I decided to buy the train ticket to Hallstatt after i finished my pieced of pizza. I was so happy to make that decision because I love what I had seen and experienced! " The Beautiful scenario along my journey.



 I open the window on the train and breath the fresh air. Green file and the craig just make me feel so peaceful and feel like i own the world. Finally I arrived to Hallstatt. I had to take a boat from train station to cross to the other side to get to old town Hallstatt. I could see Hallstatt from the other side. it so beautiful! its different and I am so happy to be here. At that moment I forgot how many hours I had been traveling to get here but for your info - from Prague to Hallstatt in one day it was about 12hrs! It was such a long trip from Prague since 8am and I arrived in Hallstatt almost 8pm. I am glad I made it.

 

 After many hours included train ride from Prague to Vienna then transfer from Vienna to Hallstatt was a long journey, but then finally I arrived at Hallstatt train station. It was a blast when I arrived. I felt like whow finally I made it here. From the train station I had to take a ferry cross the lake to Hallstatt town. I could see the most beautiful town that surrounded by beauty nature from the other side. I said to myself. This is worth the long trip all the way from Prague to Vienna and then Hallstatt. I spent the whole day traveling to Hallstatt. I was so impress of the View from the other side of the lake. Those wooden houses along the side of the Lake was just amazed me away.love train trip.

 How stupid my spontaneous to come here without planing and i didn't book the hotel. I walked around town and all hotel is booked because it was a high season. I was so grumpy and hungry and I need to rest. I walked into one hotel. This guy who work at the concierge. He has his gray sunglass on, wore jean and sneaker and i was grumpy so i asked him if he has a room but i wasn't nice. I complained. I said I am tired and i need a room. He played around with me. He check on computer there is a room left but he was kind of playing with his reaction that he didn't have room for me but then he slowly  tell me that there is one room left! Thanks god! i don't have to sleep on the street. He carried my bag to my room. I was so happy to take shower then I went to the lobby later to use wifi. This guy who work at concierge came around the lobby and offered me a glass of wine. I said hmm ok thanks. Awww…. he is nice to me and I regret I was so mean to him lol because I was totally exhausted after 12 hrs train rides.



 Finally I got to enjoy the beauty of Hallstatt. I was so happy to be here. I love the hotel spot becuase there was an out door restaurant area with a terrace facing the big lake and big mountains. It was so beautiful. Even I have seen many beautiful places around the world but this place is absolutely significant and unique. I enjoyed walking around old town, checking on architectures, flowers, restaurants and photographing. I felt so much freedom surrounded by the beauty nature and the charming old town. One of the thing I really love when I travel is that I love to try local food. The authentic the better! I ate traditional local food like local trout and liver dumpling soup. It was really delicious. I also spent time on electronic boat. It was really relaxing and mind free experienced. I love that a lot. I enjoyed riding the boat and photographing and I end up had a such a delicious food surround by lake and mountains. It was so peaceful and beautiful. After three days in Hallstatt. I had to go back to Vienna because I had to fly from Vienna back Helsinki before I got back to NYC. I stayed one night in Vienna and flew back to Helsinki. My last day in Helsinki I just want to ride bicycle around the city and enjoyed my last authentic Finish reindeer steak dish. Two weeks in four countries require a lot of transportation. I went from Air plane to Ferry - Ferry to Train - Train to car.. But  well even i spent a lot of time on transportation. It was so amazing and totally worth it for my traveling experiences and that is Priceless…..
