In Southern Florida there are so many things to do one of my favorites is fishing in the Everglades. For my trip to the Everglades I decided to head to a place about an hour's drive from Palm Beach justat the start of the Everglades.  I had to wake up early  to make sure that I would be able to rent a boat for the day because at many of the rental locations in the Everglades it is all about first come first served. After getting my boat and fishing tackle I headed right out onto the water.  I really enjoyed the early morning on the calm water, watching wild birds and listening to the birds whistling with the sun rising while riding the boat in the middle of the Everglades it really was an amazing and relaxing time.

I prepared some food to enjoy while I was waiting to hook my first fish. It was a great morning to be able to enjoy my breakfast on the boat and the breezy air it was the perfect combination. After hours of drifting and casting I finally caught a bass. I was very proud of my first bass and the fishing trip for me was complete. It was really a great memory for me. The fact that I got to get up early, enjoy a relaxing time on the boat and watch the sun rise while enjoying my breakfast and waiting for fish was an absolutley beautiful experience.

While down in southern Florida you have to drive to get around so the best way to enjoy your ride around in the warm weather is to rent a convertible. It can be really fun driving from place to place. Just driving around you cna find so many unique local places to visit.  I found so many interesting things driving through the Florida keys like a local restaurant where I enjoyed a hot out of the oven key lime muffin, fried conch sandwich and many more interesting items on traditional Keys menu. For the equestrians out there, there are many great horse riding locations throughout the area. There are a few stops along the highway where you can stop and watch for the local wildlife like wild birds, turtles and definitely alligators.

When I plan to visit Southern Florida, there are somethings I always think of - usually food! They are stone crabs, conch, local fish oysters and key lime pie. I love going down to Southern Florida in late October for the beginning of stone crab season - I just cnanot miss out on the colossal stone crab claws that are most available in the beginning of the season. It's like heaven for me and I can chose the size of the claws I want.  As for desert - key lime pie is the best here. It tastes so rich and creamy and the homemade pies are to die for. Down here of course you can find the best key lime pie you will ever have. There are many good restaurants that serve great quality seafood. My personal favorite is Cod & Capers in the North Palm Beach area. Cod and Capers is a combination seafood market and restaurant and the get the freshest seafood around. I love the service at Cod and Capers and staff are always friendly. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the best seafood and enjoy the activities around here. I defintely say that nothing is better than enjoying the best quality seafood with the combination of the natural beauty of the area.

Key Largo and Islamorada are also beautiful places to enjoy down in Southern Florida. There are many great activities to enjoy in the area such as snorkeling, deep sea fishing and boating. The area is rich with ocean life. The ocean is beautiful and warm. The first time I visited the Florida Keys it left a great impression. The  people, food and culture are unique and local to the area. Everyone I met was so friendly and welcoming. The Florida Keys ar ethe perfect example of what Florida's natural beauty is really like. It's like living the best lifestyle combination of great people, gorgeous nature and amazing fresh food. The vibe is very laid back and truly enjoyable, for the relaxed, nature driven traveler, the Florida Keys have it all.

Key Largo is a great spot in southern Florida to visit for local food, bars and outdoor activiites. I found one local restaurant on the way to my snorkeling and they made fresh key lime muffins and other baked goods daily. The menu was local and interesting with my favorite menu item a fried conch sandwich.

The Everglades is my favorite feature of southern Florida, here you can try some real local food like gator bites and frog legs. I love fishing here in the Everglades, being on the water and enjoying the sun is so relaxing even when the fish are no biting.
