Here I come the Murano and Burano Islands. The wonderful full day trip from Venice. There are more than just a romantic place like Venice and the Godola but other Islands like Murano and Burano Islands in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. These two Islands has it's own uniquess and history or even the architecture even though they are so close from each other. I was traveling from Venice to Murano Island by a beautiful private boat from infront of my hotel, my first stop was Murano New Gallery. It was no rush and I could enjoy looking around here for quite a while and shopping for some of Murano glass. Murana glass has it's own unique beauty because of the color, weight, charater and it's only produce here on Muranno Island. It need a lot of practice for the artist who create them. They are collectable for those who love art. The factory also show the performance of making blow glass and furthur inside there are big gallery where they show such a stunning Murano glass shanderia and many more, aslo jewelry. I have never seen such a unique shanderia like those I saw in Murano before so it was a great experienced of this trip. However This place is dangerous because you may want to buy something if you love to collect piece of art and Murano glass is really unique, especially when you travel to the place where they only produce the original pieces, than you may want to shop so be prepare for your wallet.

Unfortunately I only visited Murano New Gallery for shopping but did not spend time to walk around Murano Isalnd since I was hungry and I decided to have my luanch at the oldest restaurant in Murano Island. I had a private boat picked up at Murano New Gallery to the port where I could take a ferry from Murano to Burano. It was fun! I got my ticket and got on the ferry on time to Burano Island which was a fun journey. There were a lot of people on the ferry but I enjoyed to view along the way. There was one stop before Murano Island so if you have a lot of time than you can visit these places too. At this point I was starving and I was looking forward to experiment new local food and relaxing for a some wine and coffee. Finally after quite sometimes I arrived at Burano's port. I could not stop photograhping because I was amazed by the uniqness of Burano's architecture. Every building on the island was extremely colorful.

I was arrived at Burano Island just right in time for lunch so I gave it a try at the oldest restuarant on the Island name Trattoria da Romano. This is the historical restaurant and I really love the service and the interior design. In 1910 the first painters landed at Burano island and were fascinated by the magic atmosphere of this place. Among the first artists there were Gino Rossi, Umberto Moggioli, Pio Semeghini, Arturo Martini, Luigi Scopnich, that were important artists and men of letters who loved Burano met.The restaurant "Da Romano" is one of the places that the "vips" of the 20th century most loved and frequent, and one of the most charming artistic restaurants of Venice. This restaurant has always been managed by the Barbaro family, who continues the tradition with love and ability, giving prestige and a pleasant hospitality to the restaurant. Here you can taste the typical dishes of the lagoon cuisine such as risottos, fish dishes, sea food spaghetti, tagliolini with shrimps and vegetables, mix grilled fish. I really love the ink squid spaghetti, polenta with shrimp from Venetian lagoon and the mixed grilled fish was really amazing and fresh, but I enjoyed my meal even more with a bottle of Rosé wine. This was such a great experienced that was not just delicious food but I love about the history of the restaurant too.

After a wonderful meal. I went for handmade lace shopping, Burano is famous for magnificant handmande lace-making. There were so many fine handmade and extreamly gorgeous so If you love to decorate tabel with a beuatiful lace table sheet than you definitely should buy ones. It is also a very nice gift for someone special from Burano as well. I was so grateful to be able to interview at La Perla Gallery. This place is one of the finest lace shop in Burnao Island. There carry so many extraordinary lace collection and they made by hand only. Here you can see skill woman who work on lace by hand with thread and needle. I finally got a few precious lace from Burano. This was worth a day trip, but time flew so fast so I kept walking around the Island and most of fun thing to do for tourist like me was photographing. I love the colorful of each building here. There is no place like Burano even though there are colorful houses in the Caribbean but Burano has its own charater. The culture and people here were beautiful. It is a fun place to walk around, also shops and resturant. I am sure I will definietly visit Burano again. It was getting late and I had to make sure that I would not miss the ferry to get back to Venice. This trip to Venice was totally memorable and it is my top list destination.

Best Season:

Late spring and early summer are the best times to visit Venice as far as weather is concerned. But the city during these beautiful warm days is packed with tourists. The fall is a lovely time to visit Venice, but it is also when the acqua alta (flooding, or literally "high water") is more likely to occur. October through January is the typical high water season, though flooding can occur at any time during the year. While high water can definitely hamper your sightseeing, know that it has been a way of life for Venetians for hundreds of years and is a unique experience to have as a tourist.
